The ultimate guide for braided wigs
Hello Ladies and Welcome to BellaBraids.
I know you’ve heard all the latest goss about Braided Wigs – some of you may have even been lucky enough to witness one. I’ve written this article to address all your questions and queries.
First, let us dive into the question of WHY?
Well the truth is simply… Why not?
Braided Wigs are a beautiful style and can be a huge time saver.
We all know the usual drag of sitting down for hours, having your hair yanked side to side by a hairdresser or aunty.
Some of us even anticipate keeping the braids in for over 3 months because we want to get our time/money worth.
With braided wigs you simply wear it or not, and when you’re ready again you put it back on. EASY! No long hours in a chair. No difficult awkward washing techniques. No awkward sleeping positions. No more!
BUT DOES IT LOOK REAL?
It’s very difficult to tell the difference between a braided wig and braided hair.
But obviously there are levels to this.
When it comes to a well made Full Lace Braided Wig with baby hairs it is virtually impossible to tell the difference.
In short FULL LACE WIG = ULTRA REALISM
However, this is not to say that closure wigs don’t look real! They look as real as it gets just without the glorious baby hairs.
HOW HEAVY ARE BRAIDED WIGS?
The weight of a wig varies and depends on the style and density.
MicroBraids of course are the lightest.
Extra thick box braids are the heaviest.
At BellaBraids we have spent years optimising the perfect density/weight for our wigs.
CARING FOR YOUR BRAIDED WIG
Keep wig dry at all times to avoid dampness and bacteria.
To wash – Simply Shampoo and Condition gently with cold/lukewarm water.
Avoid applying heat to the wig.
You may choose to moisturise/oil your braided wig, however you should do so with low density oil such as coconut oil, hairspray or mouse
